Al-Amin Shorkar (Bangla: আল-আমিন সরকার) is a graphic designer and web designer as well as a Bangladeshi journalist. He is the current Sub News Editor of the news department of Daily Vorer Chetona newspaper, a national daily and govertment media listed of Bangladesh. Although he is known as Al-Amin Shorkar, his name is Md. Al-Amin (Bangla: মোঃ আল-আমিন) on various documents, from his govertment identity card and education certificate.
Early life
Al-Amin Shorkar was born on February 2, 1999 in Sherpur Upozilla, Bogura district. His father's name is Md. Afzal Hossain and mother's name is Morsheda Begum.
Education life
Al-Amin Shorkar started his education from the first Madrasa. From Madrasa he studied to Primary Education Certificate (PEC) & Junior School Certificate (JSC). After that he got education in school, college and university. He passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in Science in 2017 from Sherpur Government DJ Model High School, Bogura. Then he got admission in Police Lines School and College, Bogura but later he changed college and passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in Humanities from Jamur Islamia College, Bogura in 2019. Currently he is studying Bachelor of Arts (BA Honours) in Philosophy at Rajshahi Government City College, Rajshahi.
Career and Journalism
From 2015 to 2020, Al-Amin Shorkar started freelancing and served as a Senior Manager managing a YouTube channel. Served as moderator and designer of Sherpur Bikerz (SB), a voluntary organization of bikers from April 2020. After a few months, Nahid Hasan (the founder of the organization) left the responsibility of the organization and he also left his responsibility in October. In addition to this, he served as a Special Correspondent on the online news portal Dainik Patrika from July of the same year to February 2022 and also served as the in-charge of Dainik Patrika's newsroom from November 2020 to March 2021. Later, from March 2021 to February 2022, he served as Bogura District Crime Reporter in the national newspaper Daily Vorer Chetona, a government media listed. Currently, he is serving as Sub News Editor of Daily Vorer Chetona newspaper since March 2022.
